Gymnosperms
similarities with pteridophyta:
1. Plant can
differentiate root, stem and leaf.
2. Well
developed vascular system present.3. In maximum cases large, compound leafs are found.
4. Allternation
of generation is heterologous.
5. Many pteridophytes
are heterosporus like gymnosperms.
6. Some male
gametes are motile, like pteridophyta. example - cycads, ginkgo sp.
7. Dichotomous
venation found in Ginkgo and Ferns.
8. Embryo
formation occurs in both group.
